The summer of 1973 was another family trip up to Yorkshire and Stockton on Tees.
There is more that I remember here, but then again plenty I don’t – I wasn’t even 5 though. I don’t recall the Dr Who exhibition, although these few photos of it did get the interest of at least one Dr Who fan. I have no recollection of having seen the Transporter Bridge in Middlesborough, but I do remember having the bag of flour from the mill! The photos of the Lamborghini Miura caught me by surprise – you don’t expect to see probably the best looking sports car ever built sat outside a pub in the north of England in 1973!
The photos of Skidby Mill in Cottingham brings back memories as that’s somewhere we used to visit most times we went my dad’s parents, who lived nearby.
The last few photos show the early workings for the construction of the Humber Bridge – there are more of this to come in later years.
