My father was quite a long-term fan of Fairport Convention, and when they announced that they were splitting up in 1979, he took us to see them at Spinney Hill Hall in Northampton, and then to the Farewell Farewell concert at Cropredy – not quite the big festival that it is now.

Apologies for the quality of the photos of the Fairport set, limited by 1970s film technology combined with a relatively slow long lens – it’s listed in my dad’s database as Kodak Tri-X ISO500, but I don’t think they ever made it as ISO500 so it must be 400. Anyway, probably pushed quite a bit and really grainy and contrasty.

I have found a list of the acts who played on fclist.org – the only one I actually recognise is Earl Okin, because I remember him being in a suit.
