#49 Lotus MG Mk VIII (Austin Nurse). Almost certainly SAR5, the original Colin Chapman Mk VIII, which he sold to Nurse at the end of the 1954 season, in which it was easily the fastest MG powered 1500. In 1956 it was purchased by Roy Bloxham - who shunted it at Mallory Park, after which it lost its tail fins and turned red.

Engine of blown (supercharged) Lotus Mk VI MG, 747cc. #82 DR Piper. This was one of the early Mk VI (one of the first 8), originally acquired by Fred Hill, who called it the Empire Special. Drove it through 1953, then sold to Austin Nurse, who sold it on Boxing Day 1954 to David Piper.
