In 1984, my parents went away during the May half-term break – obviously confident that the kids wouldn’t burn the house down while they were off.
They went to Sanary on the Cote d’Azur in the south of France – not far from Toulon – staying in a large caravan, the static sort. And they went by coach – a long way to go in one of those things!
Photographically the holiday is notable for one thing – it was the first time my dad used colour negative (print) film.
