Normandy 1972

My parents' holiday in Normandy in 1972. Not entirely sure where each of these is from. The covered market is from a film labelled "Chartres", but a quick bit of googling suggests it could be Lyons-la-Forêt. I think that the bearded monk is standing on the steps of Chartres cathedral. The ruins are probably Jumieges Abbey. And finally one of the Hovercraft coming into Calais....

Goings On At The Canal

A few pics from the Grand Union Canal in August 1971. First up are some shots of proper famous people. The film Running Scared was filmed around Braunston - it was written and directed by David Hemmings (of Blow Up fame) - the only film he wrote and the first one he directed. It starred his wife, Gayle Hunnicutt, and a young and fairly unknown Robert Powell - best known as Jesus, one of The Detectives or that bloke off Casualty, depending on how old you are. And also taken at the canal, a young lady working the lock gates... ...
