Some fantastic photos from above the pits during the race, including some at night. There is also an interesting sequence of the withdrawal of the #4 Aston Martin. It pulled out because of a fuel tank leak, and you can see the stain spreading on the road underneath it, mechanics attending it it, and then it being wheeled back into the garage. I remember my father’s comment about Le Mans – it wasn’t the noise of the engines that stuck in his mind, it was the “ting ting” of the mechanics hammering off the wheel nuts.
